I’ll Be Back…

but for now, enjoy this this article I wrote on the Timbuktu Exhibit at the International Museum of Muslim Cultures.

And a here’s a little piece over at the Nisaa group blog about the coming Western Islamic Renaissance.

And here’s a little go round in Bloglandia.

Art meets activism when Made in Palestine makes its way to the US.  Altaf’s blog has all the details

Brother Alex advices us to eat zahiba at a minimum.  Please read how eating too much meat can be a bad thing, even if it’s halal.

Dr. M’s take on the latest Turkish protests are interesting.  I swear, I really can’t believe that secular governments all around the world will topple from us hijab-clad women.  I had no idea I was that powerful! :-)   When you get a chance, check out his pics from the KSA.

Shaykh JD admires Allah’s creation in the design of His universe.  He also writes on New Orleans and how they are STILL recovering DEAD BODIES.  Yep, dead bodies.  We are turning into Third World America, aren’t we?  Also check out why in 50 years we won’t be a superpower.  Oh, America, your worst enemies are within.

Brother Hakim has a kewl new template

Brother Yusuf talks about Noami Wolf’s article and how America is slowly marching t’ward fascism.  I think former Louisiana Governor Huey P. Long said it best. “Of course we will have fascism in America but we will call it democracy!”

Brother Abdul Halim writes on how Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi’i and Imam ibn Hanbal (may God be pleased with them) were orthodox rebels fighting against the corruption of their times.

Sister Ginny has moved to wordpress.  Whoo-hooo!

From the Hijabi Madness blog, Muslima runs for position in Danish parliament.  More power to her.  If they want us to be free and empowered, let’s see if they vote her into office.  Also, yep, the hijab brings down Turkey again!  Hey, maybe my hijab can bring back the Ottoman Empire.

I know you know about Sister Maliha over at Lightness of Being and her wonderful post on Ms. Manji.  Yeah, Manji, milk it for all you can.  After all, there’s plenty of Muslims vying for your spot so keep the act fresh and the media may remember you next year.

And the Writeous Sister is hosting the Muslimahs Speak Up Carnival at her blog.  Deadline is in one week.  Don’t forget to join the Muslimahs Speak Up web ring!
