Inventions in the field of technology have revolutionized our lives but nothing can replace one-on-one human interaction. To encourage this culture of human interaction and understanding, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) started a special program called “Meet the Author” during its 41st Annual Convention in Chicago. The success of this program has inspired us to continue this feature in all our events. This program was a result of numerous publications and writings by Muslim Scholars, Teachers, Students, and others on contemporary issues during the last few years. Meet the Author is an interactive session during all ISNA events which provides a wonderful platform to learn, share ideas, and provide literary contributions to society.
Participants get an opportunity to meet with authors, writers, artists, & others who have made contributions in different areas. These sessions also provide an opportunity for book signing by the authors.
We are sure that this will be a learning and lasting experience for all participants. If you have publications of your own, please let us know so we can accommodate you in our upcoming conferences and events. We will also provide exhibit space for book displays.
ISNA Islamic Art Exhibit
Side note: Now you know I’m entering. Let’s just hope this year, no disasters will happen. ISNA, here I come (insha’Allah,
)
Art is a powerful form of expression that transcends human barriers and has an immense impact on people that goes beyond culture, language, or background. Islamic Art reflects and puts great emphasis on core values of Islam, Monotheism, and promotes human equality. Art is not only entertaining but also invokes the viewer to learn more. Whether it is calligraphy or a complex geometry of patterns and designs, Islamic art sets the human mind on a journey to learn and explore deeper meaning and purpose of life. Art could tell stories of cultures and civilizations and be symbol of historical significance.
The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is inviting submissions for the “Annual Islamic Art Exhibit” to be held at the 43rd Annual ISNA Convention at Donald E Stephens Convention Center from September 1-4, 2006. Selected artists will be provided complimentary space for their displays and exhibits.
The ISNA Annual Convention is attended by more than 35,000 people from across America and overseas. The ISNA convention provides an excellent platform to display and create networks for further growth.
